Opportunities On the Horizon

The Blue Water Bound program has launched to great success — with over 700 local-area youngsters already participating, learning and benefiting — but there is much more to accomplish:

  • Increase enrollment and teaching staff
  • Expand fleet and facility services
  • Enhance partnerships with organizations such as the Yerwood Center, The Maritime Aquarium and Mystic Museum
  • Emphasize junior and senior life guard certification
  • Teach and practice environmental responsibility and leadership
  • Green the construction of marina facilities
  • Continue research and training in new educational methods
  • Continued research and better understanding our children’s needs
  • Identify resources of job training, internships and scholarships
