Swimming First Means Safety First

Safety First

Of course, in all BWB programs the theme is always, “Safety First.” In addition to swim tests, BWB conducts on-going safety drills, “man-over-board” exercises, safe boating classes and first aid training.

The goal is to have young sailors return “safe and sound” from each voyage feeling confident with a heightened sense of self-esteem.

To teach boating-related activites–such as swimming, water safety, teamwork, meteorology, navigation, marine biology, and respect for the natural resources of Long Island Sound–with the goal of expanding their personal horizons and career goals.

Sailing into Life

Sailing broadens horizons, delivering life-long benefits, such as swimming and water safety skills, intellectual development, self-reliance and teamwork.
